New York, September 23 (BNA): Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Dirasat) Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa. Khalifa, met the Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat), Maimouna Mohamed Sharif, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed praised the cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Nations Human Settlements Program, noting the preparation of the national report on the implementation of the new urban agenda, the launch of the executive summary of the State of Arab Cities 2020 report, and other aspects of partnership in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences in achieving development goals, foremost of which is making cities and human settlements comprehensive, safe and sustainable, and following up on the implementation of joint development programs and projects in accordance with strategic cooperation. And the sustainable development framework document signed between the Kingdom of Bahrain and United Nations agencies for the years (2020-2022).
