Pašalić scores hat trick as Atalanta routs Venezia 4-0

Manama, November 30 (BNA): Mario Pasalic scored a hat-trick to lead Atalanta to a 4-0 victory over Venice on Tuesday in the Italian Serie A.

Pašalić scored his first two goals in the first 12 minutes and added the other in the 67th minute, shortly after Teun Koopmeiners scored the home team’s third goal.

Atalanta tied with third-placed Inter Milan, four points behind Serie A leaders Napoli, with four points. Venezia remained above the relegation zone by five points.

Juventus were due to play last in Salernitana at a later date and will look to avoid a third consecutive loss. Also, Hellas was scheduled to host Verona Cagliari.

Atalanta made a quick start in Bergamo and took the lead in the seventh minute when Josip Ilicic sent a pass to Pasalic, who fired the ball into the lower right corner. Pašali doubled his tally after five minutes after one goal with Luis Morell.

The Croatian midfielder almost scored a hat-trick at the start of the second half, but Venice goalkeeper Sergio Romero was able to block his powerful shot after another superb pass from Ilicic.

Kompminers extended Atalanta’s lead in the 57th minute when he hit the ball into the lower right corner. Pašalić completed a hat-trick after 10 minutes, collecting the ball with his back to goal before firing into the back of the net.

Pašalić nearly had a assist minutes earlier, but Muriel’s attempt hit the left base.

Dusan Vlahovic also scored his seventh goal in five matches to lead Fiorentina 3-1 Sampdoria.
