Partial opening of Al Fateh tunnel in Q3

Manama, May 29 (BNA): Assistant Undersecretary for Roads at the Ministry of Works, Kazem Ali Abdullatif, announced the opening of part of the tunnel in the Al-Fateh Street Development Project during the third quarter of 2023.

He explained that individual parts of the project will be progressively opened once completed to help improve traffic flow until the rest of the project is completed.

The Assistant Undersecretary visited the project site to assess its progress.

He said that the ministry has made tangible progress in implementing the intersection of Al-Fateh Mosque, according to the set schedule.

The project was awarded by the Tender Board to Nass Contracting Company and the Saudi Huta Hegerfeld Company, at a cost of about 30 million Bahraini dinars, funded by the Saudi Fund for Development.

The Al-Fateh Street development project aims to increase its capacity by 61% to reach 140,000 vehicles per day. The previous capacity was 87,000 vehicles per day.
