Parliamentary-government meeting held to discuss action plan

Manama, Dec. 25 (BNA): The parliamentary committee tasked with studying the government’s plan held its first joint meeting with the government team. The meeting was chaired by Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, while the government team was headed by Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

On the government side, the meeting was attended by Minister of Finance and National Economy Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Labor Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan, Minister of Parliament Affairs Ghanim bin Fadel Al-Buainain, and Minister of Legal Affairs Yousef bin Abdul Hussein. Khalaf, Minister of Health, Dr. Jalila bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan Jawad, Minister of Cabinet Affairs Hamad bin Faisal Al-Maliki, and Minister of Information, Dr. Ramadan bin Abdullah Al-Nuaimi.

The meeting was attended by the first deputy head of the committee charged with studying the government program, Abdulnabi Salman, the second deputy head of the parliament, Ahmed Qarata, and the head of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee, Dr. Hisham Al-Ashiri, Chairman. Committee on Financial and Economic Affairs Muhammad Al-Ahmad, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Hassan Bukhmas, Chairman of the Services Committee Mamdouh Al-Saleh, Chairman of the Public Utilities and Environment Authority Badr Al-Tamimi, members of the House of Representatives and the Secretary-General of the Council, Counselor Rashid Muhammad Bounajema.

The Speaker of Parliament welcomed the Deputy Prime Minister and the ministers participating in the meeting, stressing that the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa represent a roadmap for national action to achieve the desired goals and aspirations. He also praised the remarkable efforts and close follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhance constructive cooperation between the legislative and executive branches and implement the royal directives contained in the royal speech.

Al-Musallam praised the government’s action plan 2023-2026 and its goals to keep pace with the requirements of the next stage and meet the economic vision 2030 in partnership with the private sector. He pointed to the importance of the outcomes of the meetings of the committee charged with studying the government’s program to reach a consensual vision that serves the interests of the country and citizens.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, described the government’s action plan 2023-2026 as ambitious, expressing the government’s hope that it will be approved after agreement with the House of Representatives. He said that the program will contribute effectively to continuing the implementation of the desired development goals that reflect the visions and aspirations of His Majesty the King.

The Deputy Prime Minister indicated that the plan seeks to achieve a general goal, which is to move from the stage of recovery to the stage of sustainable development. He indicated the government’s determination to continue implementing the program’s goals and priorities to create promising job opportunities, enhance citizens’ well-being, enhance social security and stability, and achieve financial and economic stability and sustainability. He thanked the Speaker of Parliament, the chairman and members of the committee for quickly forming the committee and inviting the government team to attend the first joint meeting to discuss the government’s plan for the next four years (2023-). 2026).

Then, Minister of Cabinet Affairs Hamad bin Faisal Al-Maliki gave a presentation on the government’s plan, objectives and priorities.
