Pakistani President decorates National Guard Commander with military medal

Islamabad, March 24 (BNA): The President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, Commander of the National Guard, Lieutenant General, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, awarded the Medal of Excellence. This honor was conferred in an official ceremony held at the Pakistan Presidential Palace in Islamabad to honor elite senior officers of the Pakistan Army on the occasion of Republic Day.


The ceremony was attended by ministers, senior officials and senior officers of the Pakistan Army, including Chairman of the Joint Staff Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir.


An official statement from the presidential palace revealed that the Pakistani president presented a high military medal to Major General His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, in appreciation of his outstanding efforts in strengthening brotherly relations between the two countries, mainly in the military field.


The National Guard Commander paid tribute to the Pakistani leadership, expressing his thanks to the Pakistani President and his people.


Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa is currently on an official visit to Pakistan at the invitation of Major General Asim Munir to participate as a “guest of honor” in Pakistan’s celebrations of its Republic Day, which falls on March 23.
