Ombudswoman participates in international conference in Turkiye

Ankara, January 11 (BNA): Ombudsperson Ghada Hamid Habib participated in the international conference entitled “The Future of Human Rights in the Twenty-First Century” hosted by the Turkish Ombudsman Foundation on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of its founding.


In a speech to the conference, Ghada Hamid indicated that the Kingdom celebrates the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the Board of Grievances, which is the first of its kind in the Arab Gulf region with regard to its competencies, noting that there is no similar institution in the country. at the regional level.


She added that since its establishment, the Board of Grievances has received more than 8,000 complaints, including complaints and requests for assistance, which proves the credibility of its work and reflects its continuous endeavor to win the public’s trust.


She emphasized that the establishment of the Board of Grievances in the Kingdom is a source of pride, as it is one of the human rights achievements in Bahrain.


It is worth noting that the two-day international conference is organized by the Turkish Ombudsman Foundation, jointly with the European Union, with the participation of more than 50 countries.


It provides an opportunity for the Office of the Ombudsman to highlight the Kingdom’s achievements in the field of human rights and build bridges of cooperation and exchange of experiences with similar organizations and institutions in a number of friendly countries.
