Manama, February 21 (BNA) The Minister of Labor and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan received today an Omani delegation headed by the Director General of the General Directorate of the Labor Market. The delegation is currently visiting the Kingdom to learn about its experience in developing the labor market, employing citizens in the private sector and developing human resources, in addition to training programs for the national workforce.
Humaidan reviewed the strategy of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development to create job opportunities for national job seekers in the private sector and the incentives it provides to make Bahrainis the best choice for employment. He referred in this regard to supporting the salaries of Bahraini workers, providing the necessary vocational training to ensure that job seekers meet the requirements of the labor market, in addition to strengthening social protection for Bahrainis through the unemployment insurance system.
The minister stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation, exchanging labor expertise and developing human resources among the GCC countries, given the similarity of their labor markets, and the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pride in the opportunities that allow for the exchange of qualitative experiences in the region. Al-Najjar praised the Kingdom’s experience in developing the labor market as one of the successful and pioneering experiences at the level of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the Arab world.
He pointed out that the Omani delegation aims to collect direct information on the labor market in Bahrain and benefit from it, given that the Kingdom has made great strides in supporting and developing its national human resources, as well as in creating an attractive and stimulating environment. A work environment for citizens to attract them to private companies and institutions.
The Omani delegation visited the employment services offices of the Ministry of Labour, where it was briefed on the progress of work, registration and employment programs and the applicable regulations. He was also briefed on the services provided by the Training and Manpower Development Department and the qualification programs for national cadres.
The Omani delegation visited a number of relevant authorities, led by the Labor Market Regulatory Authority, the Information and e-Government Authority, the Labor Fund (Tamkeen), the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, the Economic Development Council, and Education. The Training Quality Authority, the Institute of Public Administration and the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Financial Studies (BIBF).
