Manama, Jan. 25 (BNA): The Minister of Oil and Environment, Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak bin Dinah, stressed the importance of continuing to hold specialized conferences that contribute to promoting the development of various sectors in the region. Kingdom, as it provides platforms for the exchange of expertise and experiences among all participants from different countries, paving the way for proposing constructive solutions and ideas that serve common aspirations.
Dr. Ben-Dinah made these remarks during the opening of the 9th Middle East Barrel Bottom and Technology Catalyst Conference (BBTC MENA 2023).
The conference is organized by Euro Petroleum Consultants in cooperation with the Ministry of Oil and Environment and with the support of a number of companies specialized in this vital and important sector. The two-day conference brings together senior officials in oil companies, experts, engineers and specialists. Specialists in the oil industries from all over the world.
It aims to help refiners in the Middle East address challenges and identify opportunities, as they aim to achieve higher levels of productivity, competitiveness, flexibility and profitability by upgrading low-value heavy components and increasing conversion to reduce production of low-value fuel oil.
The event provides an opportunity for participants to explore the best strategies and solutions to increase conversion, improve and diversify products, increase integration with petrochemicals, reduce emissions and increase margins.
BBTC MENA 2023 focuses on the catalysts, which play a key role in reaching forecasting targets, including the right selection in terms of catalyst management, waste management and various recovery and regeneration technologies to determine the best operational strategy for the future.
In his speech to the conference, the minister stressed the importance of the topics on the conference’s agenda, as they deal with ways to deal with the remaining oil using modern methods that are in line with legislative and environmental laws.
He added that the conference is an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences that will enhance the capabilities and skills of human resources in this important sector to raise efficiency and creativity to contribute to finding technical solutions to improve operational processes and increase production.
He pointed out that traditional refining methods are no longer the only source of profits, and there is a global trend to enhance ways to benefit from fuel oil as one of the energy sources with a promising future.
He expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the officials and participants in the conference for the tremendous efforts they made to make it a success.
The conference reviewed a number of topics with the participation of a group of speakers and consultants from various companies, including the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco), the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) and the Bahrain Petroleum Company. Barco, and Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Company (SATORP), in addition to consultants in specialized international companies.
The Minister of Oil and Environment toured the exhibition that was held on the sidelines of the conference, met senior specialists in oil companies and listened to the most important solutions.
He also got acquainted with the latest technology in this field.
