Nominations open for 7th session of Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism

Manama, April 6 (BNA): Information Minister Dr. Ramadan bin Abdullah Al-Nuaimi announced the opening of nominations for the Prime Minister’s Seventh Prize for Journalism, from April 6 to 25.


The minister affirmed the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the Bahraini press and media in the Kingdom.


He stressed that the comprehensive development process of His Majesty the King strengthened the foundations and principles of freedom of speech and expression, strengthened the role of media in serving the nation, and paved the way for creators to contribute to the nation-building process with their innovative ideas. .


The minister expressed the gratitude of the media community in Bahrain to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for His Highness’s continuous support for the national press, and his eagerness to encourage journalists.


Al Nuaimi stressed the success of the award in encouraging journalists and media professionals to exert more efforts in developing the field.


He affirmed his confidence in the pioneering role played by the Bahraini press in highlighting national efforts and expressing the society’s aspirations.


According to the award regulations, every press institution or journalist who works in one of the daily or weekly newspapers, periodicals or local magazines issued in Bahrain in Arabic or English, and which publishes his work during the year 2022, has the right to submit their entries to obtain one of the awards presented according to the specified conditions.

The award includes four categories: “Best Opinion Column”, “Best Journalistic Investigation”, “Best Press Interview” and “Best Press Photo”.


Entries are limited to articles published in local newspapers only during the year 2022.


Each journalist or press institution is entitled to register with five entries in the same award category.


They are not allowed to submit works previously rejected in local competitions, or works that previously won any award for Gulf or Arab journalism, and the award applicant bears full responsibility for the submitted posts.
