Manama, Dec. 5 (BNA): The President of the National Institution for Human Rights, Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, received the Second Secretary for Political and Economic Affairs, Camellia Akoush, at the Embassy of Canada in Bahrain.
Al-Derazi reviewed the work of the National Institution for Human Rights and its role in spreading, promoting and protecting human rights in the Kingdom.
The meeting discussed issues of common concern and the coordination of the National Institution for Human Rights with official institutions and civil society organizations in implementing training programs to enhance awareness of human rights.
The President highlighted the Penal Code and alternative measures and their effective application by providing appropriate rehabilitation for the convicts.
Akush stressed the importance of the Foundation’s role in protecting and promoting human rights in Bahrain, wishing the Kingdom and its people further progress and prosperity.
