NIHR launches 2022-2025 work plan

Manama, February 23 (BNA) The President of the National Institution for Human Rights, Ali Ahmed Al-Dirazi, held a virtual meeting with representatives of various human rights organizations to launch the institution’s strategy and work plan for the years 2022-2025.


The President of the National Institution for Human Rights expressed his gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his initiative to establish the National Institution for Human Rights and his belief in the national need to deal responsibly with human rights issues in the Kingdom.


He expressed his appreciation for the efforts of His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in promoting and protecting human rights in Bahrain.


Dr. Houria Al-Diri, a member of the Board of Commissioners of the National Institution for Human Rights, provided an overview of the strategic objectives of the action plan. The first objective is to work on the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the national economy.


The second goal is to focus on education and awareness of human rights, and the third goal is to achieve gender equality in rights and treatment in all economic, social and cultural sectors.


The final goal is to ensure that all members of society enjoy the highest attainable standard of health.
