Manama, June 7 (BNA) Minister of Interior Lieutenant-General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received today the President of the National Institution for Human Rights Ali Al-Dirazi and members. The Head of Public Security and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior attended.
The Minister of Interior welcomed the president and members of the National Institution for Human Rights, praising the approach of the Kingdom of Bahrain, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in protecting and respecting human rights. He valued the role of the National Human Rights Institution in consolidating human rights values, wishing the best for the institution and its members.
The meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation and coordination to promote human rights principles within the framework of His Majesty the King’s reformist approach. The role of community policing in promoting human rights was highlighted along with security issues, including reducing crime rates in Bahrain.
The meeting was also attended by the Director-General of Media and Security Culture, the Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs and the Director-General of Execution of Alternative Sentences and Punishments.
