Manama, May 24 (BNA): The President of the National Institution for Human Rights, Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, held today an introductory meeting with a delegation of US Congress members who are on an official visit to the Kingdom.
During the meeting, which was attended by a number of members of the Board of Commissioners of the National Institution for Human Rights, Al-Darazi briefed the delegation on the role of the institution in promoting, consolidating and protecting human rights in the Kingdom, and its efforts in pursuing issues related to human rights issues. Human rights in accordance with the terms of reference stipulated in the law establishing it.
He stressed the importance of such visits in collecting direct and correct information on the human rights situation in the Kingdom.
