Manama, June 13 (BNA): Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak met with Yasser Al-Abbasi, CEO of the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC), and Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GPIC.
During the meeting, which discussed ways to benefit from household waste, Al-Mubarak stressed the importance of partnership with the private sector to promote a culture of recycling, planting trees and spreading awareness of their environmental importance.
He praised GPIC’s initiative to support afforestation projects and contribute to preserving the environment through recycling.
The minister indicated its keenness to continue its joint work with GPIC to exchange skills and experiences, as well as projects aimed at preserving the environment.
The head of GPIC indicated that the company seeks to contribute to afforestation and household waste recycling projects as part of the company’s social commitments to support projects that serve the environment, increase green spaces, and improve urbanization standards.
He praised the vital projects undertaken by the ministry, which focus on improving environmental standards.
