Ambassador meets Canadian officials

Ottawa, June 25 (BNA): The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Canada, Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, met here today with Sandra McCardell, Assistant Deputy Minister for Europe, the Arctic, the Middle East and the Maghreb, and Neil Brennan, Director of the Gulf Region. Country Relations with the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development, in the framework of his official visit to Canada.

The meeting focused on ways to enhance Bahraini-Canadian cooperation.

The Canadian side affirmed his country’s desire to make the bilateral relations multifaceted to achieve common interests.

The envoy affirmed Bahrain’s keenness to strengthen its relations with Canada, noting that the launch of the Canadian-Bahraini Friendship Group will contribute to expanding the scope of joint cooperation.

He also highlighted the openness of the Kingdom’s economic environment, based on Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The two sides also discussed regional and global issues, within the framework of the two countries’ keenness to support international efforts to combat terrorism this year.

The ambassador said that the Kingdom is looking forward to hosting the third round of political consultations.

The two Canadian officials congratulated the envoy on the launch of the Canadian-Bahrain Friendship Group, praising the ongoing joint cooperation.

They also praised the Kingdom’s role in consolidating the values ​​and principles of peaceful coexistence and peace in the region.
