Bayern Munich thrash amateur side 27-0 in pre-season game

Cologne, July 19 (BNA): If ninth-tier Rotach-Egern thought Bayern Munich would seize Tuesday’s pre-season match as a chance to shake off rust after a long break, they were woefully wrong, as the ruthless German champions ran wild. win 27-0.

The match was part of Bayern’s training camp in Tegernsee before they embarked on a tour of Asia, and amateur side Rotach-Ejren smiled as they posed for a pre-match photo.

The smiles quickly vanished when Jamal Musiala – whose late win sealed the last game of last season’s Bayern Munich – opened the scoring in just the third minute.

Bayern were leading 18-0 at half-time before coach Thomas Tuchel changed their entire line-up in the second half, which was also a one-way move.

Musiala, Marcel Sabitzer and Mathis Tal each scored five goals while Serge Gnabry scored a hat-trick, with 13 different players on the goal list.

After the match, Tuchel said, “We have come a long way more than before, we have been working hard. It is hard and difficult, but everyone is ready.”

Playing against Rotach-Ejren in pre-season has been tradition for Bayern, who won 23-0 in 2019. Rotach-Ejren managed to score twice in a match in 2018 before losing 20-2.
