LMRA CEO honors the participants in the 2nd edition of (Training of Trainers Programme to Combat Trafficking in Persons)

Manama, July 13 (BNA): HE Mrs. Nouf Abdulrahman Jamsheer, CEO of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority and Chairperson of the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking, attended the honoring ceremony for the participants in the latest training course for trainers. The program to combat human trafficking in its second Arabic edition, which was organized by the Regional Center for Excellence and Capacity Building of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority to combat human trafficking, in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration,

Twenty-eight trainees from various government sectors and agencies participated in the programme, including the media sector, the medical sector, port and public security employees at the Ministry of Interior, and the inspection and criminal justice sectors.

Jamsheer stressed the importance of capacity building in the field of combating human trafficking, specifically on the front lines in the areas of identifying and detecting victims and potential victims of human trafficking.

The training program consists of seven training modules that include training skills, trafficking concepts and attitudes, legal frameworks for understanding trauma and victim-centered care, victim identification and examination, psychological first aid, as well as working with interpreters.

The CEO of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority pointed out the importance of developing cadres in the field of combating human trafficking, as it requires extensive knowledge and a high degree of competence to deal with and address such a transnational international crime given its complex, multifaceted and evolving nature. .

She added, “Continuous training complements and enhances the Kingdom’s efforts to maintain an inclusive work environment that rejects illegal practices in the labor market that may expose workers to exploitation, extortion, and other forms of human trafficking.”

She added, “We are working through the Regional Center of Excellence and Capacity Building to Combat Human Trafficking to upgrade skills and capabilities in various sectors through the Training of Trainers (ToT) program to provide a strong group of qualified and certified national trainers. .

The center is considered the house of expertise and training in the field of combating human trafficking in the region, through a victim-centered approach and appropriate intervention methods, as well as building the capacities of target groups from various fields of frontline workers in the region.
