Manama, July 16 (BNA): A specialized committee destroyed a total of 4,800 kilograms of narcotics and psychotropic substances that were seized through final court rulings.
The committee charged with supervising the destruction or delivery of confiscated materials and tools disposed of, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. (15) of 2007 regarding narcotics and psychotropic substances.
The committee is formed by a decision of the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, with members representing the Public Prosecution and the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments.
This morning, the committee went to the warehouse where the drugs were seized and conducted a legal review of the seized items to ensure their authenticity and examined the seals, according to the head of the committee, the head of the penalty enforcement prosecution, lawyer Muhammad Saleh Al-Musallam.
The seized items were melted in furnaces at a temperature of 1100 degrees Celsius, in accordance with the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
