Manama, June 9 (BNA): Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam said that Bahrain succeeded in maintaining the “Category 1” status for the sixth year in a row in the US State Department’s report on human trafficking for the year 2023. It is the highest annual international classification in this field.



In a statement today, the Speaker of the House of Representatives said that the global trust recognizes Bahrain’s humanitarian and legal qualifications and its outstanding steps in combating human trafficking.



He extended his congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.



He praised the concerted efforts made by the Ministries of Interior, Foreign Affairs, Justice, Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Social Development, Information, the Supreme Judicial Council, the Labor Market Regulatory Authority and the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking. He attributed the achievement to unified national efforts in which everyone contributed, through outstanding performance, preserving labor rights for all parties, and consolidating the Kingdom of Bahrain’s global position as a leading model in combating the crime of human trafficking.



He said, “This international achievement constitutes a qualitative addition to Bahrain in pioneering Bahraini successes and strides in all fields, and high international confidence in the humanitarian and legal work system.”
