SCIA holds its regular meeting

Manama, July 25 (BNA): Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, chaired the council’s regular meeting.


The Council praised the important and profound implications of the royal speech delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa during the 18th consultative meeting of the GCC Supreme Council and the GCC-Central Asia Summit (C5).


He praised His Majesty the King’s reference to the deep historical relations between the GCC countries and their strong cooperative relations, based on serious endeavors to bring visions closer, and on the basis of promoting common vital interests to protect Islamic spiritual values ​​and civilizational gains, organizing collective action to spread a culture of peace and tolerance, enriching channels of dialogue between religions and civilizations, criminalizing religious, sectarian and racist hate speech, deterring regional forces against hatred and racism, and deterring its regional sources. And mutual trust, preserving the sovereignty of states and their right to a long-term development renaissance.


On the occasion of the new Hijri year, the authority expressed its congratulations to His Majesty the King, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.


They also congratulated His Majesty the King on the occasion of Bahrain winning the award for the best office for pilgrims’ affairs among the three countries that achieved the highest satisfaction rate from Bahraini pilgrims for the Hajj season 1444 AH.


The council denounced the repeated burning of the Holy Qur’an and the intrusion of its sanctity in some European countries, calling on the international community to take an urgent and firm stance against this practice, which contradicts the values ​​of religious freedom and coexistence.
