Capital Governor affirms UN’s role in achieving sustainable development dimensions

Manama, June 20 (BNA): The Governor of the Capital, Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, discussed with Khalid Al-Maqwad, the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Bahrain, a mechanism for integrating sustainable development goals into the governorate’s programs and initiatives, especially those related to volunteering. humanitarian and developmental aspects.

The governor affirmed that the United Nations is an essential and important partner in achieving aspects of sustainable development in the governorate.

Sheikh Rashid reviewed community and sustainable development projects and initiatives implemented by the governorate in partnership with government institutions, civil society organizations and the private sector.

He pointed out that the governorate is keen on conducting a comprehensive analysis of the current situation, predicting future trends, and conducting an impact assessment after implementing its initiatives to ensure the integration of sustainable development in various aspects.

The Resident Coordinator said his meeting with the governor is part of the ongoing communication between the UN Resident Coordinator’s office and various partners active in advancing development goals.
