GCC technical committees’ meetings conclude

Manama, July 13 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan affirmed the Kingdom’s keenness to keep abreast of the latest developments in the field of renewable energy, based on its commitment to its role in the international community. And in order to activate international agreements related to achieving sustainable development, noting the importance of uniting efforts and goals to set standard specifications in the field of energy.

The minister’s remarks came during a speech he delivered at the closing session of the Technical Committee for Standardization of Renewable Energy and Storage Technologies of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

He praised the dedicated efforts made by the two technical committees in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries for electrical and electronic specifications, renewable energy, and specifications for storage technologies, during their meetings hosted by the Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs on July 10 and 13.

Humaidan stressed that the expansion of the use of renewable energy contributes to achieving the goals of sustainable development and falls within the framework of the Kingdom’s commitment to achieving zero neutrality and reducing carbon emissions, indicating that work is on the right track to achieve the desired goals for Bahrain. National Renewable Energy Action Plan (NREAP) and National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP).

It is noteworthy that the Kingdom hosted during the past four days thirtyy The meeting of the Gulf Technical Committee for Electrical and Electronic Specifications, and the ninth meeting of the Gulf Technical Committee for Specifications for Renewable Energy and Storage Technologies, in the presence of experts and specialists from the GCC countries.
