Dubai, June 17 (BNA): Today, Manama made history, defeating Kuwait’s Kuwait 67-59 to win the inaugural International Basketball Association League (WASL).
The final match, which was held in Dubai, was attended by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Public Authority for Sports, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
His Highness Sheikh Khalid congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
He praised Manama’s achievement in winning the inaugural West Asian Premier League (WASL) and securing a place in the Asian Club Championship for the first time in its history.
He congratulated the members of the Manama Board of Directors, led by Chairman Youssef Zaman, praising the dedicated efforts of the players and the technical and administrative staff, which ensured Bahrain a historic achievement.
