Gauff powers past Pegula to reach semifinals at Eastbourne

EASTBOURNE, England June 30 (BNA): Coco Gauff outlasted her doubles partner Jessica Pegula to reach the semifinals at the Eastbourne International on Thursday.

Wet weather delayed the start of Wimbledon warm-up play before Gauff wasted little time in beating third seed Pegula 6-3, 6-3 in an All-American match, the Associated Press (AP) said.

The 19-year-old fifth seed is the highest-ranked player remaining in the tournament. Goff next plays compatriot Madison Keys. This will be Gauff’s third semi-final appearance of the year after Auckland and Dubai.
