NCC Chief hails HM the King’s support to national press

Manama, May 3 (BNA): The CEO of the National Communication Center, Youssef Mohammed Al-Binkhalil, praised the message of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, which falls on May 3 of each year.

“The keynote speech reflects His Majesty the King’s firm support for the press, media and communication sector and his firm belief in their role in building the nation, in a democratic atmosphere reinforced by an advanced constitutional and legal system that guarantees freedom of independent and responsible opinion and expression.”

In a statement on the occasion of the United Nations’ 30th World Press Freedom Day, he stressed the commitment of the National Council of Organizations to serving the nation, supporting development, and unifying the government media narrative.

He explained that “the democratic environment in Bahrain strengthened the rights, freedoms, and legal guarantees for practicing journalism and media professions, and enabled journalists and media professionals to express their opinions safely and independently.”

Al-Binkhalil praised the role of the press and the media as partners in development, praising their contributions to protecting national identity, promoting awareness and exchanging information.

He renewed the Federal National Council’s commitment to continue cooperating with media and press institutions to reflect the outstanding achievements achieved by Bahrain.
