National Guard, Pakistani army sign MoU

Manama, March 9 (BNA) The National Guard headed by the Director of National Guard Staff Major General Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Khalifa, and the Pakistani Army led by the Director of Pakistani Foreign Military Cooperation Major General Majid Jahangir, signed a memorandum of understanding.

The Director of Staff of the National Guard stressed that the memorandum of understanding enhances military integration between the two sides through exchanging experiences, enhancing training levels and implementing joint exercises.

Sheikh Abdulaziz added that strengthening cooperation with other military institutions reflects the objectives of the National Guard’s five-year strategic plans.

It also enhances the combat readiness of the military in the performance of their national duties.

Major General Jahangir confirmed that the memorandum of understanding resulted in conducting a series of exercises (Al-Badr) to raise the capabilities of both sides in combating terrorism and strengthening national defense.

He praised the role of the National Guard and its efforts, which reflect the depth of relations between Bahrain and Pakistan.
