National competence-building training programme launched

Manama, October 26 (BNA) Public Prosecutor Dr. Ali bin Fadl Al-Buainain announced the launch of the national training program aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the bodies concerned with the protection of human rights.


The training scheme is organized by the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Institute of Judicial and Legal Studies (JLSI) and the Royal Academy of Police (RAP).


The opening ceremony was held at the Gulf Hotel, in the presence of Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women Hala bint Mohammed Al Ansari, Minister of Social Development Osama bin Ahmed Al Asfour, and Public Security. Major General Tariq bin Hassan Al-Hassan, UN Resident Coordinator Khaled Al-Maqwad and UNDP Resident Representatives Firas Gharaibeh.


Dr. Al-Buainain stressed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to promote human rights as the cornerstone of sustainable development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.


He stressed the importance of the training program in the context of efforts to implement Bahrain’s future vision to achieve the goals of the National Human Rights Plan (2022-2026).


Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani praised the efforts of the Special Investigation Unit in promoting a culture of human rights and ensuring justice and equity.


Lieutenant-General Tariq Al-Hassan said that the participation of the Ministry of Interior in this national training program comes within the framework of implementing the National Human Rights Plan (2022-2026). .
