Nasser bin Hamad: Best Horse Condition Award will stir up competition among stables

Manama, November 5 (BNA) His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, Honorary President of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation, praised the efforts of Her Highness Sheikha Noura. Bint Hamad Al Khalifa, captain of the Al Fursan team, for sponsoring the Best Condition horse award which will be presented at the inaugural international qualifiers to be held on Saturday over a distance of 100 km and 120 km.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser stressed that this award is an ideal incentive for all participants, and confirms Her Highness’s keenness to support all stables and jockeys and contribute to the prosperity of Bahrain’s endurance sport.

His Highness explained that this award, which was approved by the International Equestrian Sports Federation, will have positive spin-offs in making the competition between all participants stronger, as the stables and jockeys are keen to finish the race and their horses in their best condition.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser expressed his happiness to see the participants record high positive results in endurance races, pointing out that this is clear evidence of the development of this sport in Bahrain, as well as its steady progress towards prosperity.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser said that “watching new faces entering this sport is one of the goals set by the BREEF Foundation, headed by His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.”

Best Horse Condition Award

Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Noura bint Hamad Al Khalifa, the Captain of the Knights Team, a 100 km and 120 km race will witness the Best Horse Condition award, which will give the winners prizes and financial rewards. The prize will be awarded to the top ten horses who complete the stages of the race, and it will be for the royal and private stables as well.

In this context, BREEF has formed a committee to determine the winners who will be announced upon completion of the races. These will be determined based on certain parameters such as heart rate, time to recovery, and dehydration.

The races are held in the new Ras El Bar village.

It is worth mentioning that the local races of 80 km and 40 km were held on Friday. Badr Fahad Al-Enezi led the 40 km race, while Nayef Mubarak led the 80 km race.
