Manama, June 22 (BNA) The Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, received the head of the country program in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Fernanda Lonardone.
The Minister praised the cooperation between Bahrain and the UN-Habitat Program, which had a significant impact on the development of cities and interest in modernization.
He discussed cooperation between the Ministry and the United Nations Programme, stressing that the Kingdom is keen on sustainable development as the cornerstone of comprehensive development in Bahrain.
Lonardone praised Bahrain’s progress in urban development, stressing the keenness of the United Nations Program to increase cooperation with the Ministry in various fields to achieve sustainable development and human entertainment.
She presented the World Urban Forum (WUF) to be held in Poland next month, at which the Minister will represent Bahrain.
The meeting discussed a number of cooperation projects and ways to enhance efforts to develop cities and villages in Bahrain.
