Morocco bans passengers from several African countries over COVID-19 concerns

Rabat, November 26 (BNA): The Moroccan authorities decided, after receiving information about the emergence of a new dangerous species in South Africa, to prevent entry to the national territory of citizens of South Africa and several other countries in South Africa, as well as of travelers coming from or transiting through these countries.

According to the Moroccan Press Agency, the list issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad includes South Africa, in addition to Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.

MAP added that this decision comes within the framework of the measures taken to preserve Morocco’s achievements in managing the Covid-19 pandemic and to confront the deteriorating health situation in some countries.
