More evacuated citizens and residents arrived in Bahrain

Manama, May 25 (BNA): A Gulf Air plane arrived at Bahrain International Airport to evacuate citizens and residents of Bahrain from Sudan.

Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Ali Bahzad, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Consular and Administrative Affairs, confirmed that the evacuation came in implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad. Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to evacuate citizens and residents of the Kingdom from Sudan, in light of the current dangerous security situation.

Bahrain is making every effort to secure the safe return of all 252 citizens and residents.

Bahzad praised the continuous follow-up of Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, to the evacuation process.

He stressed the coherent efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, Bahrain Airport Company and other government agencies to complete the eviction process.

The ambassador appreciated the role of Saudi Arabia and the UAE in the success of the evacuation process.
