Means of production prices mostly fall in China

Today, Saturday, official data showed that most capital goods in China recorded lower prices in early January 2023 compared to the end of December 2022.

Of the 50 commodities monitored by the government, which include seamless steel pipes, gasoline, coal, fertilizers and some agricultural products mainly used for processing, 27 posted lower prices, and 21 experienced higher prices, according to the NBS. Xinhua.

Data from the bureau showed pig prices fell 10.7 percent in early January to 15 yuan (about 2.23 dollars) per kilogram.

The figures, released every 10 days, are based on a survey of nearly 2,000 wholesalers and distributors in 31 county-level areas across the country.
