Mane reaches 100 goals for Liverpool in 3-0 win over Palace

London, September 18 (BNA): Sadio Mane scored for the ninth time in a row against Crystal Palace and reached 100 goals for Liverpool to put his team on the way to a 3-0 victory in the English Premier League on Saturday.

The Senegalese striker reached this feat at Anfield by converting from close range in the 43rd minute after Mohamed Salah’s header from a corner kick saved by Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita.

An Associated Press report stated that of Mane’s goals scored by the Reds a century ago, which came in 224 games, 10 were scored against Palace.

Salah added the second goal in 78th place, which also came from a corner, with the Egypt international taking a shot after a shot from the left deflected to him at the back post.

And Naby Keita scored the best of the lottery in the 89th minute with a shot from the edge of the area after Gueta hit the ball clearly.

It proved to be a tough game for Liverpool, which was without attacking backs because Trent Alexander-Arnold was ill and Andrew Robertson was resting, and there were some tense moments before Salah’s goal.

Liverpool have won four of their five league games and conceded only once, and the improvement in their defensive performances coincided with the return of central defender Virgil van Dijk from injury.

Palace hit the post in the first two minutes through Wilfried Zaha, and Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker was called to the rescue against Conor Gallagher and substitute Odson Edward shortly before Salah scored his fourth goal in the league this season.
