Manchester United to sign new forward

Stretford Dec 11 (BNA): Manchester United are looking to bring in a new striker to fill the gap left by Cristiano Ronaldo following his departure from the Premier League following his explosive interview with TalkTV, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag says.

Ronaldo said, in an interview with Piers Morgan last month, that he felt betrayed by the club and did not respect Ten Hag.

United then announced that the Portugal international, who returned to the club in August 2021 after winning eight major trophies from 2003 to 2009, would leave with immediate effect.

Asked if United were in the market for a new striker, Ten Hag told reporters: “Yes, but only when we find the right player.

“We do everything we can, so I research every opportunity that comes up. We do everything we can if the opportunity is there.

“I can’t comment on specific players, I never would. I told you before, in the summer also, when I spoke about many players. Every player is under contract and I respect that, but we make sure we work in the background to get the right players.”
