the opportunity

We are looking for an experienced M&A specialist in strategy and transactions to join our high performing team. As the M&A Manager, you will assist clients in assessing the strategic alignment of the business by analyzing all aspects of the transaction, assessing expected synergies, managing the deal cycle, assisting in negotiations, and performing financial modelling.

You will benefit from an extensive global network, enabling you to provide sector-focused advice on the selling process from strategic positioning to closing, and assisting in the execution of acquisitions, alliances and mergers. You can advise C-suite executives and boards on evaluating strategic alternatives in a transactional context.

basic tasks

You will be involved in executing transactions across a client’s portfolio, preparing client reports and key documents for fundraising, acquisitions and dispositions. You will play an active role in business development activities including participating in the preparation of presentation books and other marketing materials, and meeting with existing/target clients. You will also be responsible for the following:

Create and present transaction ideas, identify opportunities, open and capitalize on relationships
Project manages transactions, drives transaction schedule, ensures quality in client deliverables, as well as manages counterparties and other advisors to ensure transaction milestones are met
Understand key business drivers as well as forecast, identify and manage key issues and risks through insights, realistic conclusions and advice
Lead, develop and consult junior colleagues, share knowledge and take an active role in the growth and development of the entire team

Success skills and attributes

Corporate finance experience in an investment bank, professional services firm or boutique with a proven track record of working on both the buy side and the sell side, as well as fundraising.
The role will require strong digital, financial and modeling skills based on a sophisticated understanding of financial statements.
You will have sound business judgment and the ability to find creative solutions to problems.

To qualify you must have

– As a minimum, ideally a Bachelor’s degree in a finance-related or similar subject from a reputable university
At least 5 to 7 years of experience in a M&A environment, including experience playing a key role in executing transactions
– Strong communication, presentation and project management skills
Proven ability to produce high quality, professional, impactful documents for clients and internal use
Flexibility to travel (about 25 to 75%).

Ideally, you will also have

– MBA or MA in Finance (or related field) from a reputable university
– CFA qualification
Experience of transactions in a customer-facing role within a professional services, investment bank, or similar organization(s).
GCC experience or working in a mature market
Arabic language skills will be an asset
