We are currently looking for a highly motivated Director – Supply Chain & Operations to lead our customer engagement teams, work with a diverse range of clients to provide professional services and engage in business development activities on strategic and global priority accounts. This role will focus on the life sciences as a sector that includes pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, pharmacies, distributors, and medical device companies. Members of our Supply Chain and Operations team provide insights into life sciences clients in supply chain transformation spanning planning, procurement, operations and logistics and often integrating with other competencies to deliver end-to-end solutions to clients including large scale transformation projects. This role requires a candidate with a 50:50 split between technical sector knowledge and business acumen.
Your main responsibilities
As a manager, your main role will be to lead large transformational client engagements as well as internal projects. Drawing on your knowledge, skills and experience, you will create valuable relationships with external clients at the “C” level. You will lead significant global and regional bids, proposals and thought leadership. You will lead teams in our clients, and support them in improving their business performance. You will also be responsible for presenting executive summary findings to effect change and advance the regional life sciences agenda. You will manage multiple EY colleagues across levels and members of the client team. In addition, you will review the work of others to ensure that it is of high quality. You will mentor others as they advance in their careers. Your role in leading teams — or parts of teams — on posts will depend on the size of the engagement. When working on engagements, you will report to higher levels of management, who will expect you to anticipate and identify risks, and escalate any issues as appropriate. As an influential team member, you will help create a positive learning culture, coach and counsel junior team members and help them develop.
Success skills and attributes
To qualify for this role, you must have
Nearly 6+ years of hands-on experience in supply chain and operations across different domains (technology transformation, business transformation, finance, etc..), with a proven track record of experience in the life sciences (pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices) or industry Healthcare (hospitals, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies)
– Previous consulting experience (Big Four, Strategy House or equivalent) is preferred.
– Digital supply chain, work experience and skills
Technical knowledge of the life and landscape sciences sector (MENA / Global)
Understand new treatment areas and sector trends including, but not limited to, cells, genetics, biosimilars, accountable care organization (ACOs), and local manufacturing
Proven track record of business development activities in the life sciences or healthcare sector
Demonstrated experience and proven track record to lead a successful transformation in the areas of supply chain particularly asset management, maintenance and warehousing
Preferably based in Jordan or Saudi Arabia
– Bilingual (English and Arabic) will be an added advantage
Bachelor’s degree with a focus in biopharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering or alternatively; Business, Supply Chain or Logistics with proven industry experience
Experience managing staff on multiple projects and providing direction to team members
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ideally, you will also have
Master’s degree with a concentration in business, supply chain or operations with strong academic records
Professional certification in life sciences and/or supply chain
Prepare to travel across the region
