Maldives First Lady visits SCW headquarters

Manama, October 6 (BNA) The First Lady of the Maldives Fazna Ahmed, as part of her visit to the Kingdom, accompanied by her husband, President Ibrahim Mohamed Salih, today visited the headquarters of the Supreme Council for Women.

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women, Hala Al-Ansari, welcomed the first lady of the Maldives and praised the growing relations and the common desire to expand cooperation in all fields.

The two sides discussed issues related to the advancement of women and Bahrain’s efforts to promote equal opportunities and gender balance in the Kingdom of Bahrain, praising the qualitative achievements made by women in the Maldives at various levels.

Sheikha Dina bint Rashid Al Khalifa, Assistant Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women, outlines the gains of Bahraini women and the establishment of the council as an advisory body to promote women’s empowerment and advancement.
