Gloyaca, Nov. 23 (BNA): The European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said that a 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck western Turkey, while the Minister of Interior said that there were no immediate reports of deaths or major damage.

MSC said the quake occurred at a depth of two kilometres.

The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), with a magnitude of 5.9, said the epicenter was in Juliaca district in the northwestern province of Duzce, according to Reuters.

“We have completed our inspections in the villages around Goliaca. No serious damage has been reported; only some barns have been destroyed in these places.

“The power was cut off during the earthquake, but the authorities are now restoring power,” Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu told TRT Haber.

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said on Twitter that 35 people were infected in Duzce and neighboring provinces.
