Magnitude 5 jolts Kahramanmaraş in southern Turkey

Ankara, March 3 (BNA): An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale hit the city of Kahramanmaraş, southern Turkey, at dawn today, Friday.

The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Agency, AFAD, said, in a statement published by Anadolu Agency, that the earthquake occurred at 05:53 this morning.

She indicated that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 6.95 kilometers below the surface of the earth, and its epicenter was the Oniki Shabat area.
