LMRA warns against dealing with unlicensed offices and agencies

Manama, April 4 (BNA): The Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has warned citizens and residents against dealing with illegal intermediaries and agencies that do not have the necessary licenses in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority.

The authority pointed out that dealing with such agencies will have serious legal repercussions, in addition to its social and health effects.

The Labor Market Regulatory Authority added that it pays special attention to agencies that provide manpower for home jobs, as it is a service closely related to families and households. It confirms that it has put in place guarantees to protect the rights and welfare of all parties.

The authority indicated that unlicensed entities deal with irregular and illegal workers who violate the conditions of their work permits. He called on employers to submit a “report of absence from work” by visiting any of the branches of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority in accordance with the regulations set, to avoid any legal accountability, adding that employers may authorize accredited employment agencies to submit the report on their behalf.

The Labor Market Regulatory Authority confirmed that it publishes and updates the names of approved recruitment offices and domestic labor recruitment agencies on a weekly basis, as all customers can view them through the authority’s website www.lmra.gov.bh or contact the Labor Market Regulatory Authority’s call center at 17506055.

The authority also called on citizens and residents to submit their complaints via e-mail [email protected]the online government application for complaints and suggestions (Tawasul), or by visiting the complaints section of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority.
