LMRA chief participates in World of Work Summit

Geneva, June 11 (BNA): The CEO of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority and the head of the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking Jamal Abdulaziz Al-Alawi participated in the World of Work Summit held on Thursday. On the sidelines of the International Labor Conference.

The summit focused on the urgent actions that the ILO and its member states need to take in order to address issues of concern to all parties, including governments, employers and workers, in light of the multiple crises facing the workforce.

The head of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority said that the participants focused on the challenge of preserving opportunities and caring for people. They also followed up on the ILO Declaration on Social Justice for a fair globalization, decent work and the inclusion of safe and healthy working conditions within the framework of fundamental principles and rights at work.

Al-Alawi stressed the importance of the Kingdom’s participation in the summit, as it provides a platform to highlight the achievements of the Bahraini labor market, thus contributing to preserving the rights of all parties during the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. In this regard, he said that the Kingdom has devoted its efforts to confronting the negative repercussions of the epidemic, in cooperation between the government and all producing agencies.
