Liverpool beats Chelsea to win FA Cup, keep quad hopes alive

London, May 14 (BNA) Liverpool beat Chelsea in their first penalty shootout in the FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium to stay in contention, albeit unlikely, for four titles on Saturday.

Just as it did in the League Cup final in February, the final ended 0-0 after regulations and extra time before Liverpool won again, according to the Associated Press.

This time around, the Reds assisted Chelsea midfielder Mason Mason who saved a penalty shoot-out before Konstantinos Tsimikas clinched a 6-5 penalty shootout win with his first-ever goal for the club.

It was Liverpool’s first win in an FA Cup Final since 2006 – and one of the two previous penalty shootouts that decided the Cup final took place in Cardiff while Wembley was being rebuilt.
