Amman, Feb. 23 (BNA): Minister of Labor and Chairman of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority, Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan, participated in a high-level meeting dedicated to supporting the implementation of the Labor Market Agreement. Palestinian Employment Strategy, Arab Labor Organization (ALO).
The meeting comes within the framework of Arab and international efforts to support job creation and economic growth in the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to implementing the decisions of the Arab labor conferences and their boards of directors, the latest of which was the decision of the 48th Arab Conference. The meeting was attended by the Director-General of the International Labor Organization, Fayez Ali Al-Mutairi, and the Director-General of the International Labor Organization, Gilbert F. Hongbo and a number of Arab labor ministers, as well as Arab and international experts and specialists. .
The meeting discussed the issue of Palestinian labor in light of the spread of unemployment in the occupied Palestinian territories and ways to support the rights of Palestinian workers and alleviate their suffering with material and moral support.
It also discussed the proposed programs that would develop appropriate solutions to improve living standards and increase job opportunities and work environment in the State of Palestine.
On this occasion, the Minister of Labor affirmed that the Kingdom’s participation in the meeting is in line with its support for joint Arab action, especially with regard to efforts to promote Palestinian economic growth.
On the sidelines of the event, Minister Humaidan held a meeting with the Director General of the ALO, where they discussed issues of common concern.
He also met with his Arab counterparts and discussed with them ways to enhance cooperation between ALO member states with regard to labor markets in Arab countries.
