Khalid bin Hamad congratulates Muharraq for reaching AFC Cup final

Manama, October 24 (BNA) His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the Public Sports Authority and Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, attended today, Wednesday. A match between Muharraq Club and Kuwait Club of Kuwait, which was held at the stadium of the late Sheikh Ali bin Muhammad bin Isa Al Khalifa at the Muharraq Sports and Cultural Club.

The match was part of the AFC Cup semi-finals. Among the attendees were Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Football Association, His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa. Khalifa, President of Muharraq Club, His Excellency Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Kuwaiti Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the Public Sports Authority, and Khaled Al-Ghanim, President of the Kuwaiti Club.

Commenting on the match, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the wonderful performance of the Muharraq team in the match, which reflects the strong preparations made by the team’s players, who were equipped with a high spirit to achieve victory and qualify for the final match.

Moreover, His Highness Sheikh Khalid wished that the team could repeat its successes in 2008 when he lifted the trophy for this competition. His Highness Sheikh Khalid also praised the huge participation in the match, stressing that the fans played a key role in this victory.
