Kane scores again in Tottenham’s 2-0 win at Brighton

Brighton, England, March 17 (BNA): Tottenham striker Harry Kane scored for the fourth consecutive time in the English Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Brighton, Wednesday, to keep his team on track to qualify for the Champions League.

The England captain ran on Rodrigo Bentancur’s through ball and made a low shot into the near post to score Tottenham’s second goal in the 57th minute at Amex Stadium, the Associated Press reported.

Kane, who missed an open goal from an acute angle early in the game, rediscovered his best by scoring against Manchester United, Everton and Leeds in his previous three matches. Including a brace against Manchester City last month, it’s seven goals in Kane’s six games and 12 this season in the league.

Christian Romero put Tottenham ahead in the 37th minute in somewhat ad hoc circumstances, with Dejan Kulusevsky’s long-range shot hitting the defender to score his first goal for the club.

Tottenham advanced above Wolverhampton to seventh place and two points behind fifth-placed Manchester United, as they compete with fourth-placed Arsenal for last place in qualifying for the Champions League.
