Justice Minister sets up polling and counting committees

Manama, October 29 (BNA) The Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Monitoring the Elections, Nawaf bin Muhammad Al-Maawda, issued Resolution No. 135 to form polling and counting committees to elect members of the House of Representatives.

The polling and counting committees stipulated in this resolution – each within the limits of his competence – shall carry out the polling and counting operations in accordance with the provisions stipulated in Decree-Law No. (14) of 2002 regarding the exercise of political rights.

The head of the Election Supervision Committee in each electoral district announces the result of the election in all the electoral districts in his area and the number of votes obtained by each candidate, after receiving all the minutes of the polling and counting committee and the electoral papers from the electoral district. Various polling and counting committees.

A copy of the election result, together with all electoral records and papers, shall be sent to the Higher Election Supervision Committee stipulated in Article 18 of the Decree-Law to announce the final results and notify the winners.
