Jordan’s King Abdullah and Queen Rania’s eldest daughter ties the knot

Amman, March 13 (BNA): Jordan’s King Abdullah and his eldest daughter, Princess Iman, married a financier residing in New York in a private ceremony attended by some members of the Gulf royal family and family friends.

The princess, 26, and groom Jamil Alexander Thermiotis, 28, each read a verse from the Koran after signing the marriage certificate in front of the king in parts of the ceremony that were shown live on state television.

Earlier, Princess Iman, who was wearing a white dress with a long train and lace sleeves with a diamond crown, was escorted through the palace gardens by Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah, her older brother, according to Reuters.

Queen Rania published: Congratulations, my dear Iman, your smile has always been a gift of love that I cherish from the day you were born. I wish you and Jameel a life full of love and laughter.

The engagement was announced last summer, but the wedding date was only set last week.

King Abdullah’s eldest son, Crown Prince Al Hussein, is set to marry Rajawa Al Seif, the youngest daughter of Saudi businessman Khaled Al Seif, on June 1.
