Amazon, has an immediate opportunity for an IT Engineer at one of our Fulfillment Centers. Fulfillment centers handle millions of items from tens of thousands of sellers, and ship them worldwide every day. The successful candidate will know how things are working in his/her areas of responsibility and will keep changes under control. You will build and operate infrastructure environments and will provide critical inputs to ensure that the platform is designed with operability in mind. You will ensure that all infrastructure related work is moving forward successfully. Since no two days are the same on Amazon, you will thrive on change and embrace mystery.

The successful candidate will have:
Second-line experience supporting enterprise network devices (using Cisco products).
Strong background in network support and troubleshooting – LAN/WAN and wireless networks.
Good working knowledge of enterprise switches, firewalls, and CLI usage.
Detailed knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, OSI Layer 7 model, DNS, DHCP, VPN, HSRP or other high availability solutions.
Understand wireless networking in an enterprise environment such as coverage challenges and end user device roaming.
Understand copper and fiber data cables, such as CAT6, single mode, and multimode optical fibers.
Working knowledge of Linux from installations and file systems using text editors such as vi, generic Linux CLI commands, and Linux systems management.
Working knowledge of Microsoft back office technologies. Although most Active Directory/ADFS, mail systems, etc. are managed by a separate team, your experience to discuss issues or areas for improvement will be helpful.
Project management capabilities and experience performing technical tasks.
Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to problem solve complex technical issues.
It is imperative that you have worked in a customer-facing role that requires strong technical competence, excellent oral communication and written skills to develop clear and concise documentation and to deal effectively with business at all levels and in various situations.
Demonstrated ability to operate in high pressure situations, successfully handling multiple competing priorities and possessing a high level of discipline while demonstrating a high degree of flexibility and professionalism.
Industry certifications such as Cisco (CCNA, CCNP), Microsoft (MCP, MCSE), Linux (LPIC-1, LPIC-2).
Experience in managing heterogeneous networking environments with Microsoft Windows and Linux based clients and servers
Experience in IT asset management and procurement
Advanced knowledge in handling all common network and Internet protocols
– Experience with wireless local networks (WLAN / WiFi)
– Proven ability to learn and apply new technology.
