NEW YORK, Jan. 31 (BNA): Kyrie Irving scored 26 points, seven rebounds and six assists to lead the Brooklyn Nets to a 121-104 win Monday night over the Los Angeles Lakers, who were without LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Patty Mills and Cam Thomas added 21 points each for the Nets, who won their second straight and 4-6 since Kevin Durant sprained ligaments in his right knee.
Lakers coach Darvin Ham said James was experiencing “extreme pain” in his left foot and would be evaluated Tuesday to see if he could play for the New York Knicks that night, the Associated Press reported.
It was Davis’ planned day off, so neither side played in back-to-back matches after returning last week from a 20-match absence with a right-foot injury.
Thomas Bryant scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Lakers, while Russell Westbrook scored 17 points and made 10 assists and eight rebounds.

Joel Embiid scored 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Philadelphia, his 27th game of the season scoring 30 or more points and his ninth in the last 10.

Lyles took over for Sabonis at center and started the extra period with a 3-pointer. He pounced on Rudy Gobert on a three-point play and wide came in front of the slam again with 37.8 seconds left in overtime to build a five-point lead to give the Kings part of this two-game set after Losing 117-110 Saturday night. .
Anthony Edwards scored 33 points and eight rebounds for the Timberwolves, scoring 30 points for the fifth time in the last six games. Joubert added 19 points and 14 rebounds.
