Doncic leads Mavericks to win at Toronto

Toronto, Oct. 24 (BUS): Luka Doncic scored 27 points, made 12 assists and nine rebounds, missed his 37th career with a triple-double, Kristaps Porsengis scored 18 points and 10 rebounds, and the Dallas Mavericks climbed from 14 points early. Unable to beat the Toronto Raptors 103-95 Saturday night.

Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 13 of 25 points in the fourth quarter, and Dwight Powell and Dorian Finney Smith each scored 11 as Dallas bounced back from Thursday’s season-opening loss to Atlanta, the Associated Press reported.

OG Anunoby scored 23 points for the Raptors, who were playing game two of a straight game. Toronto won 115-83 in Boston on Friday.

Fred Vanfleet scored 20 points and Scotty Barnes 17. Precious Ochiwa scored 10 points and 12 rebounds and Gary Trent Jr. scored 12 points.

PACERS 102, HEAT 91, OT

Indianapolis: O’Shea Brisset scored 18 points, including the green light inside the basket in overtime, as the Pacers outpaced the Heat.

The teams exchanged baskets to start overtime, then Brissett scored an offensive rebound to advance 90-88 and start the 9-0 round.

Rising goalkeeper Chris Duarte led the Pacers with 19 points. Malcolm Brogdon scored 18 points and made 15 assists.

The Pacers rebounded again after the season opener with a pair of one-point losses on the road including a defeat in overtime in Washington on Thursday.

Tyler Hero topped all scorers with 30 points and also had 10 rebounds.

Surah Al-Baqarah 101, Al-Suqur 95

Cleveland: Novice Evan Mobley scored 17 points and 11 rebounds to help the Cavaliers win their first game of the season by defeating the Hawks.

Ricky Rubio scored 23 points and made eight assists, and Garrett Allen added 11 points and 14 rebounds for Cleveland, who trailed by 13 points in the second quarter. The Cavaliers lost their first two games, both 11 times.

Mobley, the third overall pick from USC, scored seven points during a 21-0 stint that put Cleveland ahead 67-58 in third.

Atlanta went goalless, recording 4:28 minutes after Trae Young stopped the ball 46 seconds before the end of the second quarter.

Young paced the Hawks with 24 points and seven assists.

Bulls 97, pistons 82

Chicago: Demar DeRozan scored 21 points, Nikola Vucevic added 15 points and 18 rebounds, and the Bulls beat the Pistons.

DeRozan put an exclamation point on his night, finishing in a resounding third quarter despite being hit in the face by Pistons goalkeeper Hamidou Diallo. His efforts helped give the Bulls their first 3-0 start to the season since 2016.

Bey’s friend led the way for Detroit with 20 points and 16 rebounds.
